At lunch that day, Jakob approached our table with two girls that were just as stunningly attractive as he was. As they sat down with us, he introduced them.

"Hi guys. This is Lilja," he pointed to one of the girls who had light skin, just like Jakob, but with light green eyes. "and this is Anna." He said, gesturing towards a girl with bright blonde hair.

"Hello." They said together. Their voices were heavenly, just like Jakob's.

"I'm Emma, and this is Cody." Emma said, suddenly recollecting her manners. "Are you three friends?" she continued to ask.

"Yes, since we were three." Lilja explained. There was an awkward silence that followed, until Jakob curiously picked up a piece of chicken.

"What is this?" he asked, examining it. Emma and I giggled.

"It's chicken." We said.

"Oh. What does it taste like?" he boggled.

"Just eat it." Anna said, rolling her eyes. Jakob blushed, which looked extremely natural on his light skin.

"So, why did y'all choose America? I mean, England is so much closer." I asked curiously.

"It was his idea." Lilja said, poking Jakob in the bicep. Oh how jealous I was of her. Jakob responded to Lilja with more blushing.

"Well, it's cool, but this particular town sucks." Cody said. I had a feeling that he was going to become jealous of the attention Jakob would be getting.

"Oh no! We love it!" Jakob said, finally speaking. "Especially with friendly people like Nathan around!" he added. It was my turn to blush.

After a few minutes of discussing their hometown, culture, ect, the bell rang.

"What classes do you all have?" We asked them.

"Lilja and I have intro humanities." Anna said.

"Oh! How awesome! I do too!" Emma said brightly. "I'll see you all there then! I have something to do." She continued. There was no doubt in my mind that she was skipping off to meet Jake.

"Cody and I have history this hour." I spoke up.

"Oh no, I have Maths." He said. God, he was so cute.

"It's okay, what do you have next hour?" I asked, unable to suppress my giggles.

"English." He said, interested. How anyone could be interested about such a treacherous subject was beyond my American comprehension.

"I do too." I replied, much more gladly than I normally would have when talking about English class. Another annoyingly loud bell had rung just as Cody and I had taken our seats.

Once the incredibly lecture began, Cody passed me a folded up piece of blue paper. I had assumed it was a note; and I was right.

"What do you think of the foreign exchange students?" he had written.

"They have names, you know. I'm rather fond of Jakob, and the girls don't seem too bad either." I replied. My response was full of understatements, and apparently Cody had noticed it.

He took the note and wrote a response, while using a lot of different pens in the process. Once he passed the note back, I opened it curiously.

"You like him, don't you?" he had written in rainbow letters. I rolled my eyes, and read the rest. "I have taken a liking to Lilja myself. I doubt she'd like me though, I seem to have bad luck with the girls here." There was no doubt in my mind that he was referring to Emma. He looked a bit crestfallen over the matter.

"Yes, I do. Is it so obvious? No matter. I'm just going to keep to myself and enjoy the eye candy from afar. You mustn't be so negative. If you haven't confidence, then no one will notice you. It wouldn't hurt to partake in our conversations, either." I quickly wrote, and passed the note back.

Unfortunately, we were interrupted by none other than the corrupt man whom we call our 'teacher'. "Excuse me, Nathan," He started, "but I do not remember note passing to be part of the class agenda."

"You may be having memory failure." I said coolly.

"No, I don't think that's the case," He said through clenched teeth. "but perhaps the principal would be able to, ah, remind you of the school rules. Go. Now." He was obviously angry that I had embarrassed him in front of his students.

"The pleasure is mine." I said, not taking my eyes off of him until I exited the room. I had absolutely no intentions of going to the principal's office; so instead, I found my way to the bathroom near the cafeteria. Inside, I nearly sang at what I saw.

"Jakob?" I said quietly.

"Oh!" he said in surprise. "Vat are you doing here?" he asked delicately.

"I got kicked out of class. What about you?" I said suspiciously.

"I, I got a little tired, you see, and came here to wash my face." He said timidly.

Unfortunately, our conversation was cut short by the arrival of another person: Sean, the same one who had told Emma about the Halloween party.

"I thought I'd find you here." He said to me, as if I were a bug. He was a lot more sour without Emma around. "Of course, people like you will go anywhere to invade people's space. Just to see what they want." He said, smirking.

I didn't really have any idea about what he was talking about. "What are you on about?? I said incredulously.

"I'm sure you know, faggot." He said viciously.

I was in disbelief. How could he have known? Was he just bluffing? Nevertheless, I was freaked out.

"Trying to get in foreign boy's pants, are you?" He continued, until Jakob's massive frame stepped in front of him.

"I think you should leave." Jakob said quietly.

By now, Sean's eyes were glittering with hatred. "He's a faggot, man. Don't tell me you're going to be his friend?" Sean retorted, as though I were an alien.

"At this rate, I von't have to even try to take your position as goalie." Jakob said, ignoring Sean's hollow warnings.

Apparently, Sean was losing patience with both of us. He threw a fist towards Jakob's face, who caught it lazily with his right hand. I had never really noticed the size of Jakob's muscles until now, and they were considerably larger than Sean's. I was in lust.

"I think you should leave." Jakob repeated.

Defeated, Sean stalked out of the room while muttering, "Filthy fairies." Once he had left, Jakob turned to me. I was in shock. Sean was one of the jocks. Sean was one of the most popular guys in school, and Jakob had just stopped him single-handily; literally.

"Is what he says true?" Jakob asked airily. I didn't really know how to answer. If I told him the truth, two possibilities could come of it. He could freak out and crush me, or he could accept me with open arms. I decided that if he couldn't accept me for who I was, he wasn't a true friend. So I told him.

"Yes." I said, my head hanging.

"Don't worry. It is nothing to be ashamed ov.' He said in that sexy accent. I felt him pull me into a hug, which was short lived due to the loud bell. We quickly broke apart and met up with the others at our usual spot at Emma's locker.

I explained what had happened, leaving out the part of Jakob scaring Sean off, along with coming out to Jakob. I decided I would wait to tell Emma in private, as to save myself embarrassment.

I was somewhat shocked at my peers' ignorance. During English, about five guys made comments about Jakob's English, until I angrily shouted, "And how much Icelandic might you all know?" at them. This shut them up pretty fast.

"Why didn't you say anything to them?" I asked Jakob.

"They are not worth my time, really." He said casually. I was astounded. He was so passive! It was somewhat scary, actually.

"So er, what do you think of Emma and Cody?" I said, changing the subject.

"Emma is quite pleasant.. I do believe that Lilja and Anna enjoy her greatly. Cody, however, isn't very nice, or rather just quiet." He said.

It took me a while to respond, because his eyes were enchanting me pretty fast.It wasn't until Jakob said, "Are you alright?" that I came back to Earth.

"Oh, sorry. Yes, just daydreaming. Cody is rather shy, but that will probably change, because he's trying to get Lilja's attention." I said, rather quickly. What was I doing? I was telling someone whom I had only known for a few hours one of my friend's secrets. There was no mistaking it. Jakob had me in the palm of his hand.

"Lilja?" he said curiously, to which I nodded my head.

"She isn't one to be taken easily." he said ssuspiciously.

"Oh no! Of course not!" I said, somewhat regretful that I had brought it up. "You see," I continued, "Cody had a crush on Emma, but Jake Eren had already made his move on her, so it was kind of too late for Cody." I explained in a rush. I was so nervous that it was pathetic.

Here we were, just having a normal conversation, and I was almost sweating.

"I see, should I speak with Lilja, then?" he asked earnestly.

"I think that she should be given a chance to get to know him, first." I said, all-knowingly.

"Of course." He agreed. Not wanting to end the conversation there, I thought of things to talk about in my head, and settled on the matter that was bugging me.

"How do you think Sean knew about me?" I asked, half to myself, half to Jakob.

"Who is Sean?" he asked curiously.

"The guy that almost beat my face in during last period??" I said, rather dramatically.

"Oh, him. I would not have let him hurt you, friends don't stand by and watch one another get hurt." He said sincerely. "Anyway, I do not know, there is nothing gay about you."

He said, pausing before the word 'gay' as if to ponder if he should use it or not, probably fearing that it would be offensive.

"However, you are rather small, but so are most guys in this grade. I would not worry." He advised.

'Of course you think I'm small; you're massive!" I thought.

"How can I not worry? For all I know, he could be telling everyone right now!" I said franticly.

"Do not worry. You shouldn't be ashamed of who you are. Me, as well as the rest of your friends, will make sure that no wrong befalls you." He said.

"What about you then?" I asked, testing the waters.

"Me? I do not label myself, that would just make me more prone to society's hatred." He said wisely.

I ogled at him. He was so carefree, although it was somewhat annoying, as I didn't know if I had a chance or not. Then again, I wouldn't anyway if he were like that. I'm me, and he's an Adonis.

After the day was over with, I came home to my mom in tears. I needn't've asked her of what happened; it was written all over her face. She had blood running down her face, cuts all over her arms and legs, and bruises on her cheek. I sat down beside her and silent tears ran down my face.

"When will it end?" I asked her.

She just laid her head on my shoulder and said, "I don't know if it ever does." in a choked voice.
