I did leave the story at an important spot. You might want to read Chapter 12 to refresh your memory. My time away has been longer than I expected.
Previously (Robert and Lucas are presenting Forensic+ at the conference in St. Louis)
Lucas stood up and moved beside Robert. "I am Lucas Stephenson. I am the other person responsible for this program but I have to add that this program was Robert's dream which he started to think about in our first year at university. He wanted to change the way we did forensic work by using computer technology. Without his drive and determination, this program would never have happened."
Robert was almost struck dumb. This was not in the script. Frowning, he turned and looked at Lucas.
Lucas smiled. He winked at Robert and then turned and scanned the audience. With a smile, "My partner is lost for words; my comments were not in his notes." He scanned the audience again. Then in a low, confidential voice. "He doesn't appreciate it when I do things like this." There were chuckles around the room.
Robert realized that Lucas had done a great job of getting the audience on their side. Robert had cut out the bickering part of his introduction in Toronto and what Lucas said was the perfect way to have the audience accept them. He knew what he had to do. "Mr. Stephenson, without you, this program would not exist. You have provided so much information on how to do a forensic audit and break a case into its bits. I would like you to outline your background and your contributions." He was back on track. Robert almost didn't care how the presentation went. Lucas had shown him yet again how to treat a partner.
Robert sat down on his stool and Lucas stepped forward. "I knew that I wanted to be a CPA like my father. However, during my first year at university, I became fascinated by forensic accounting." Looking at Robert, "Robert mentioned his idea of computers helping forensic accounting several times in that first year at university. Neither he nor I did get a lot done on his dream that first year. We won a spot on he university hockey team and became co-captains of our university team. With that and our studies, we were just too busy. However, I began to plan my courses around forensic accounting in my second year at university. Luckily, I worked at The Accountants as my summer job and I was put in the forensic section. I worked there every summer and when I graduated, I immediately started working with Michael Burtchell to complete my CPA. Michael and I worked on a number of forensic cases that year. After I received my CPA, I went back to my home, The Accountants. I am now Head of the Forensic section of The Accountant. I can tell you that Forensic+ has changed our methods and work dramatically ... for the better."
Lucas stepped back and Robert took over. "I am not even certain when I came up with this idea. I was glad that we didn't get much done that first year. I realized very quickly that I had to fall back on Lucas' abilities in forensic accounting. As a result, I concentrated on computer languages, compilers and advanced programming. We were a team. It was in our third year that we had a program that we were able to test out at the Accountants during our summer jobs as we both worked at the Accountants. The program worked. However, we worked even harder to refine the program and add to it until we both graduated. It was then that I started my computer firm. We presented Forensic+ in Toronto in May for the first time. I have to say that we have had many positive reviews and comments. We have sent out Forensic+ 1.1 several weeks ago to all our registered users. We have already had many enthusiastic comments about 1.1. I have had many positive evaluations that we shall mention during our presentation. Lucas and I want to show you how Forensic+ works and why it will change how you will do forensic cases differently and more productively."
On schedule, the first graphic appeared on the screen. Robert was certain that he had the attention of the audience.
Present
They had done it again. The audience had been attentive. Robert looked at his watch. "It appears that our presentation has ended exactly at the time that we had planned it would. Before I finish and ask for questions, I would like to read one of the evaluations that we have received."
This is from one of the largest forensic accounting firms in the United States. He gave their name. `My firm was at the conference in Toronto. The firm bought a copy of Forensic+ to try it out on some cases. We were totally surprised how Forensic+ worked exactly as Mr. Malenfant and Mr. Stephenson said that it would. The tutorials are exceedingly well done. We have now bought programs for the entire forensic staff. A few weeks back, we received Forensic+ 1.1. It is a remarkable addition to an already excellent piece of software. I cannot say enough good things about this program.'
"As you came into the session, I had handed out even more evaluations for you to look at. You will notice that all the evaluations have the name of the firm and the person responsible for the forensic section. I shall not take up your valuable time reading them out. However, I do have time for questions."
Robert pointed at man. "I understand that there is a French version of the program. Do you have any plans for a Spanish version?"
"I always try to be as honest as possible. My firm is in the process of expanding; besides Forensic+ and ForensicPlus, we have a local business that sets up office, computer systems, creates Web sites and constructs personalized databases. In effect, we become their IT department. The French version is now out for testing and Lucas and I shall be going over to Paris in late January and we shall be in Montreal in early November. There are language differences in the two programs. I cannot promise that there will be a Spanish version any time soon."
"Mr. Malenfant, I am impressed. Many presenters would have told me what they thought that I would like to hear."
Robert interrupted. "Not my style, sir."
"Thank you for the honesty. We shall be buying a copy and possibly copies of Forensic+ after we have worked with it."
There were more technical questions which Lucas handled superbly. They ended the presentation and they saw that Edward had set up a table outside the entrance to the room. There was no one left in the room except them, Mark and Phoebe.
Robert turned and looked at Lucas. He walked to him and grabbed his hands in his. He leaned forward and kissed him. "Thank you for what you did at the beginning. You really did set the tone for the presentation. It was even better than Toronto." He leaned forward and kissed him again and little longer than the first kiss.
They both heard a clearing of a throat. They looked around and saw a man who had been at the presentation. He was smiling at them. "I wondered about the two of you. You said that you were partners. I am certain that most of those present assumed that you meant business partners. I wondered if you were more than that. There was a look that you gave Mr. Stephenson after he surprised you with his opening comments. It said a lot. Then, I just saw the kiss. My name is Matthew Craig."
Robert smiled. "Something that we never hide. We were married a year ago in November. We have been together since our first year at university. I hope that you found the presentation enlightening."
"Oh, I shall be buying several copies of Forensic+. I would like you to meet my partner, Jerome, over a drink at the bar if you have the time."
"As I said in Toronto to a man who has an accounting firm in Tucson, under this cool exterior, there is a body that has sweated litres of sweat. I need a shower and change of clothes. In addition, we are meeting Ron Corbett and his son, Thomas and Thomas' partner, Liam, in the lounge at 4 this afternoon. You are welcome to come."
"It will be so good to be with a group like that. I often have to hide my relationship with Jerome. I know how that sounds but there are men in our business who are not accepting of our relationship. So, we are careful."
"We all have to deal with that in our own way. We would be glad to have you join our group. By the way, Ron Corbett is not gay but his son, Thomas, is. Ron has an accounting business in Tucson, Arizona and Thomas has an accounting business in Buffalo, New York. You will meet his partner Liam. A great guy."
"Father and son have accounting businesses almost a continent apart. There must be a story there."
"You will have to ask them! See you at 4 in the lounge. I am pleased that you caught us telling each other how important we are to the other."
They almost didn't make it out of their room. The shower was hot and erotic. Both guys would have just loved to jump into bed and not come up again until the next day. However, they were looking forward to seeing Ron, Thomas and Liam. They hoped that they hadn't made a mistake in asking Matthew and Jerome to join them. Well, they had done it so there was nothing they could now but turn up.
They actually arrived a bit early and minutes later Ron and the guys turned up. It was hugs all around.
It was Liam who spoke up. "Guys to say that I was impressed would be the understatement of the day. Here are the guys that I swim and water ski with up in front of a very formidable group of savvy businessmen and they acted as if it is nothing out of the ordinary."
Thomas looked at them. "Like Liam, I saw two friends turn into a high powered duo with incredible knowledge and poise."
Robert looked at them and shrugged. "We did it in Toronto. Yes, there was bit more pressure here but as I looked at the audience just before I started, I suddenly realized that there was nothing I could do at that point but give the best presentation that I could. Lucas as usual was brilliant with his detailed remarks on how to work a case with Forensic+."
He glanced up and saw Matthew and Jerome coming in to the bar. "It's a long story but I invited two men to join us. Matthew asked me, as Ron did, if we were business partners or more than that. Ron, you know what my answer was." Ron smiled.
Robert stood up and motioned to the Matthew. It was interesting Matthew was a bit older than Jerome who was a very well built, handsome man. As he shook hands with Matthew, he looked at Jerome. "You must be Jerome. A pleasure to meet you." Pointing, "Matthew and Jerome, I would like you to meet Ron from Tucson and Thomas and Liam from Buffalo."
It turned out to be a very good grouping. Jerome was the head of small but growing IT company. It turned out to be somewhat like Robert's company, only bigger. The two of them soon became deeply engrossed in a conversation about their companies. As they talked, he noticed that Matthew was talking to Ron and Thomas. Liam and Lucas were talking about the trip to Arizona."
Robert knew that he was tired but he wanted to go out dancing. They had done research at home and had found a club that said any couples were welcome, hetero, gay or whatever. They had smiled at the whatever. "Guys, I have just had a brilliant idea." He explained how the club advertised itself. "Let's go dancing tonight. The closing supper tomorrow may have dancing but some people may not want to dance that night. We should all just let our hair down and go crazy. Ron, you know that you are welcome."
Matthew looked at him smiling. "Has someone inhabited the body of the young executive who a couple of hours ago presented a ground breaking new piece of software so brilliantly?"
"As I said to my Papa this summer, I can be multifaceted."
That broke them all up. Matthew looked at Jerome. They were in. Then, Liam looked at them as if they were crazy saying of course they were in.
Robert pulled out his phone. "Papa, there are a group of us going out dancing tonight. Want to come?"
"I'll ask your Dad" There was a pause. "Dad is in. You can't stop him. Maybe we can take a cab together?"
"There are quite a few of us. That is probably a good idea. See you at nine. You could see if Michael and Stephen want to come."
Matthew looked at him strangely. "You asked your father?"
"Oh, you won't know. I was speaking to Papa, Timothy Malenfant and then he spoke to his husband, my other dad, Jeremy Marchese-Milner."
It was Matthew with amazement on his face as he looked at Jerome. "Jeremy Marchese-Milner was the one who gave the Keynote Address this morning." Turning to Robert, "Who are Michael and Stephen?"
"That would be Michael Burtchell who gave the opening address and his partner is Stephen Bourgeois, who retired as Head of the Political Science Department at the university."
Matthew in awe, "This will be night to remember."
Robert smiled at him. "Only if you get out on the floor and dance until you drop. That's what my guy and I going to do. So will my dads."
Jerome looked at Matthew and then the others. "I never thought this could happen. Possibly five gay couples going out from the conference to dance. I don't get Matthew out to dance very often. This is going to be amazing. Thanks so much, guys." The look between Jerome and Matthew was loving and hot."
Robert thought to himself that he guessed he had done the right thing to ask them to come for a drink. They went for a quick bite to eat and then back to their room. Inside, Robert rushed over to Lucas. "You were fantastic this afternoon. That bit at the start and then your explanation on how to use Forensic+ was the best so far." They kissed.
Lucas looked at him. "I need a bit of a sleep with no funny business. However, after the dance tonight, if I remember, I owe you a wild, dirty, sexy weekend. Don't even look at me like that. It starts tonight after the dance club."
Robert reached down. "You ... are hard already."
"Just thinking and planning for after the dance. Now, rest and nothing else."
It turned out to be an acceptable place. It was not even close to dance clubs in their city or the ones they went to in Buffalo but it was a dance club where they could dance. They ordered drinks and when the music started, it was Robert who stood up and grabbed his guy. Looking at the group, "Alright, on your feet, it is time to dance." Like magic, everyone put their drinks down and stood up.
The first set was a fast set and all the couples showed their style. Then there was short section of Latin beats. Robert and Lucas looked fantastic as they followed the beats of the music. Then it turned soft and dreamy. Robert put his head on Lucas' shoulder and they danced as one body. As usual, he enjoyed watching his fathers dance close with looks at each other that said so much. It was clear that Thomas and Liam were like his fathers. It was Matthew and Jerome that he found intriguing. After an initial bit of clumsy dancing, they pulled each other close and danced. He happened to look over at them at one time and Matthew looked at Jerome and leaned forward and kissed him passionately. Michael and Stephen were off in their own world. As he often thought, he wanted to be like his dads and Michael and Stephen after so many years together.
After that set, there was general chit chat and they ordered another round of drinks. He noticed that Ron Corbett didn't seem to mind one bit that he had no partner. He simply looked as his son and his son's partner with a wonderful, sweet smile.
After another set, they decided that they would dance one last set. As they went onto the dance floor, Robert pulled Lucas close. "I think that we should use this last set as foreplay for what you promised me earlier today. It has been a magical day."
It started with Latin music. They looked good. Then there was a fast set. They danced magnificently. The set closed with a slow, intimate piece. Towards the end of it, Robert looked up at Lucas. "I want to turn around and feel that hard cock against my ass. I am so ready for what we are going to do back at our room."
Lucas moved Robert around and pulled him in to himself. Robert could feel the hard object against his butt. Lucas hands were all over his chest and stomach. Robert heard Lucas' soft voice asking him to kiss. Robert turned his head and they kissed. They lost themselves in the kiss. Robert desperately wanted Lucas' hand to go lower and stroke him but he knew that that would have to wait until they were in their room. They could sense that the music was about to end so Robert quickly turned around and pulled Lucas in. "There are days when I realize that I have won the lottery. I am dancing with the hottest man in this club and one of the brightest as well. Take me back to our room. I need you badly."
Eyes from several tables followed them. Liam looked at him. "You couldn't get any closer."
Lucas looked at him. "Oh yes we can and that will happen very soon."
Matthew and Jerome were just staring at them. It was Jerome who spoke up. "Perhaps one more dance and then we leave." He muttered to Matthew. "I think that Lucas and Robert will combust if they stay here any longer."
The last dance was for all of them the most special dance of the night. Each couple wanted to be as close and connected as they could be.
As they got in their taxis, Matthew turned. "Robert, I don't think that I ever knew how I would react to a night like this. I'll remember it for a long time. Your dads are amazing. Michael is brilliant as is his partner, Stephen. Ron told me the entire story; you and Lucas made it happen for him and his son, Thomas and Liam, his partner. I was correct, a night to remember."
The door to their room clicked as it closed and locked. Instantly Robert was up against the wall as Lucas leaned on him and kissed him. "Fuck that last set was so close to being pornographic. Well not really but it was hot."
He released him. He put his arm around him and led him to the bed. Lucas sat down on the bed and looked at Robert. Lucas used only one word. "Strip!"
They had done this many times but Robert took his time and by the time his pants and underwear were off, he was rock hard pointing out and slightly up. Lucas had muttered that he was magnificent. Lucas stood up and kissed him and then shoved him onto the bed. Lucas clothes were off in 10 seconds. Robert looked up. "Not fair. I don't get to see you strip. But I do see that incredibly hard, big cock and ...."
Robert couldn't finish as he was kissed passionately. Robert did manage several `ah fuck' in between kisses.
Lucas smiled after the last `ah fuck'. "Believe me. That is coming. Robbie you often say how great I look. You have no idea how your body turns me on." He leaned over and kissed him again. Then his mouth went to Robert's neck and he kissed it tenderly. Lucas was a little less gentle when he kissed, sucked and bit each nipple. Robert was gasping after each bite. The tongue and fingers went slowly down his chest, stomach and stopped at the pulsing cock. Lucas licked up the cock and down the back of it. Then his tongue licked his balls and then sucked each one.
Finally, he reached the prize. He muttered. "Now that magnificent ass."
He forced Robert's legs up and out. "Robbie, this is one of the most wonderful asses. No don't try and Tell me that mine is better. This is magnificent."
Lucas' tongue started just below the balls and licked its way to the pulsing opening. The tongue pushed in and he kept doing it, in as far as he could and then in and out until he could hear Robert breathing hard. Finally, Lucas ordered him to turn over and onto his hands and knees with that magnificent ass sticking proudly up and out.
Lucas knelt beside him and Robert turned his head to see what was happening. Lucas gave an order as he moved his body so that the hard cock was touching Robert's lips. "Suck it hard."
As Robert sucked him hard, Lucas reached under Robert and stroked his hard cock hard and fast.
Finally, Lucas moved behind Robert. He lubed himself and Robert. "As you said that night in Buffalo, I am going to fuck you hard, you fucking beautiful man."
Later both admitted that they could only remember the incredible feelings that the both had had. When Robert had said that he was close, Lucas came out and told him to lie on his back so that they could see each other. The mood changed as Lucas leaned over and kissed him looking at him.
Finally, Lucas spoke softly. "I never dreamed that it could be like this. Robbie put your legs over my back. I want us to finish together." Lucas started to move in and out. Robert stroked himself. Lucas could feel Robert tensing up and he started to move faster in and out. Lucas felt Robert's body start to stiffen and he felt the first contraction which sent a long rope of cum up to his chest. As Robert's orgasm continued, he felt Lucas go rigid and he could actually feel Lucas' cock contracting and firing inside him.
Lucas collapsed on top of Robert. They were both breathing heavily and suddenly Robert started to laugh. "Fuck, you are going crush me."
Lucas took some of the weight onto his arms and elbows. He looked down at Robert. "Kiss me."
As they kissed, they turned onto their sides. Lucas came out of Robert. They kissed again and then holding each other, they fell asleep.
Lucas woke up the next morning and he could feel arms around him and a very hard cock against his butt. He looked back and Robert was staring at him. "It's about time that you woke up. I need a quicky. We have time."
Minutes later they were in the shower getting ready for breakfast after a very satisfying quicky. They walked to elevator hand in hand. As they had suspected, there were delegates in the elevator so the hands had been dropped. One of the delegates spoke up. "Gentlemen, your presentation was one of the best that I have been to. I understand that you have been asked to do it again this afternoon. I hope that you get their attention as you got ours. We have ordered a copy to try it out and then we'll be buying quite a few at my firm."
Lucas spoke up. "I use it all the time at The Accountants. I am certain that once you get used to it, you too will use it all the time as well. In fact, I have a case right now at The Accountants and we shall be adding it to Forensic+ 1.2. That will be out as soon as our staff can code it and check it for errors."
The entered the cafe and were greeted by Matthew and Jerome. They were sitting very close together, not touching but close. It was Jerome who smiled and spoke. "Lucas, Robert, thank you so much for including us last night. It was liberating watching you two dance and then seeing your fathers. We have already searched for some clubs in the Boston area. We really want to meet men like us and to enjoy ourselves in our home town."
"You know I wondered if I had done the right thing to invite you to the bar to meet our friends. I am so glad that I did. I saw the spark between the two of you last night. So far, we have had no problems when people find out about our relationship. My dads are the same. I wish that my granddads were here. They too are amazing."
It was Matthew who spoke up. "OK, who are your grandparents? Another surprise?"
Lucas started to laugh. "Robbie's grandparents are amazing. They are James Milner and Philipo Marchese."
Matthew started to laugh. "Sure they are. Anything else that we should know?" Matthew turned to Jerome. "James Milner started The Accountants and has been a keynote speaker for years until he retired. I should have known that Jeremy Marchese-Milner was his son. Guys, can we sit with you tonight. I don't know if there is dancing but we had an instant connection with everyone last night."
Robert made the arrangements. Again, he noted that he didn't have to use his father's name. He was clearly well known.
The afternoon session went really well until the question period. He took two questions. Then he took the third one.
"Mr. Malenfant I am Josh Reagan from Minneapolis where I own a small accounting firm. Mr. Malenfant, why should we buy a product from your company in Canada?"
"I had hoped that you and perhaps other skeptics would understand why after our presentation. I obviously didn't connect with you. One, it is the only viable product of its kind on the market. Two, I have handed out a document with the names of US companies who have bought and use the system all the time and that document has their written comments of the product. You would have to take my word that we have not received one negative comment from any of the companies that we have sold the product to. In this day, we all use products that are produced in many countries outside the US."
The man who had asked the question had remained standing. With a bit of belligerence. "I am not sure that I want to take your word or your partners' word."
"Then, there isn't much more that we can say. I would be glad to sit down and talk after the presentation but I am going to ask if there are other questions from the delegates here."
Michael Burtchell stood up. "My name is Michael Burtchell. As you all know, I gave the opening talk. I have been using Forensic+ for 8 months. I was Mr. Stephenson's mentor as he worked at my company to obtain his CPA. Yes, I am Canadian and I own my firm. Everything that has been said during this presentation is absolutely correct. Forensic+ works as Mr. Malenfant and Mr. Stephenson have outlined. In fact, the update, 1.1, has made the product even better. I have talked to Robert and Lucas and Forensic+ 1.2 will be sent out very soon and Lucas has outlined what will be new in the program. I can only say that it is going to make a great product even better."
The man who had challenged them had sat down but he did not look pleased with how Robert had handled him at the end. Nor did he look at all pleased with Michael. They took another couple of questions and he thanked the audience for their attention and questions.
Robert went directly to the man who had challenged him. "I meant what I said. If you want to sit down and talk, I would be glad to do it. I have sweated litres of sweat and I need a shower and change of clothing. We would be glad to meet you in the bar in 30 minutes."
"We?"
"My partner, Lucas and I."
With a steely face, "Yes, I would like to discuss your partnership as well."
Robert looked surprised. "Why would you want to do that? What does my relationship to Lucas have anything to do with Forensic+?"
"The bar in 30 minutes?"
Robert and Lucas discussed his statement about their partnership. As they walked towards the bar, Robert looked at Lucas. "I don't want to talk to him about Forensic+. I have a suspicion that I know what he is going to say about our partnership."
"With that look on your face, I wish him luck. I do remember that kiss in front of the entire forensic staff The Accountants and your words to Daryl (Unexpected Robert 28). This guy won't know what hit him."
Josh was waiting for them. They ordered drinks. Robert decided to go on the offensive. "I want you to know that I don't care if you buy Forensic+. We have many subscribers and none have left us. However, I am interested in your last statement of wanting to talk about our partnership."
"I belong to an evangelical church and I am proud to say that I am a born again Christian. The minister has some very strong opinions about same sex relationships. I ...."
Robert interrupted. "I am a Catholic and I go to church almost every Sunday with my family." With impatience, "I have two relationships with Lucas. He is my business partner; he is also my husband. We were together for four years at university and we were married last November." Robert looked at Lucas. "Lucas is the centre of my life."
"I just can't justify buying a product from two men like you."
Robert thought back to the statement that Paul had made to the Minister of Brett's family many years ago. "You know Jesus in all his teachings never mentioned that love between two men was a sin or that men like us should remain celibate. Paul said a few things in his letters to some congregations but it only listed homosexuality amongst many other things that COULD stand in the way to god. There also some comments in the Old Testament as well but I think that Paul is more relevant to Christians."
"I just don't understand how you can do the things that you do. It's disgusting."
Robert had had enough. "Disgusting? That ... is your problem, not mine. I would recommend that you search out Ron Corbett from Tucson. He owns an accounting firm in Tucson and he is here at the conference. He might have some interesting things to say. By the way, he is not gay."
"So that his all you have to say?"
"Mr. Reagan, I'll repeat what I said when I finished answering your questions at the presentation, `then, there isn't much more that we CAN say'. You know my feelings and I know yours."
He held up his wine glass. "Cheers. I hope that you enjoy the final dinner and speeches."
They all took a large drink of the drinks and put them on the table. All three stood up at the same time and left the bar.
Lucas and Robert walked down the hall towards the elevators. Lucas was just holding back his amazement. "I don't think that that I have seen you like that, ever."
"We have had an unexpectedly wonderful time at this conference. The dancing last night was exceptional. We gave a great presentation yesterday and it was even better today. I am not going to lower myself to debate with him the most important part of my life." Robert stopped and stepped close to Lucas. They were almost touching each other. "No, you are the most wonderful part of my life."

If you liked this story, you might want to read the others that I have published on Nifty. In particular, my first story, Unexpected Change which has had the most positive comments and as has one of my other favourites, What a Difference a Year Makes. I have recently reread Introspection and it is worth a read. Michael Burtchell's story is in Discoveries; its ending is a little weak but getting there is fun.
