Westlife Romance - Part 15

Standing in the room, he could not believe his eyes. There in front of him was Kian, his one and only true love, making passionate love to another man.

The two were so into their lovemaking that they didn't even notice the surprise visitor. The only sounds that could be heard aside from the music were Kian and Derek's moans of sexual desire.

After several seconds of viewing the scene unfold before his eyes, Nicky turned and left the room, still too shocked to cry, too shocked to think, too shocked to even make a sound. All he could do was walk out of the room and half-heartedly close the door behind him. But it only took another few steps before the emotions caught up with the young singer. Leaning against the wall in the hallway, Nicky's legs went weak as he began to realize what had just happened. It seemed all so unreal, yet he knew that he wasn't dreaming.

It was a few minutes later that the elevator door opened once again. This time, it was Bryan who emerged, impatient after waiting ten minutes for Nicky to return. Upon seeing his band mate down the hall, he opened his mouth to speak before stopping himself. He stopped because something looked wrong; something wasn't right. Why was Nicky sitting on the floor in the hallway? Why didn't he return to meet the lads? Something must have happened. Instinctively, Bryan rushed up to Nicky, who didn't even acknowledge his presence. Bryan looked at his face and all he saw was a blank expression, it was like Nicky was in another world. Another closer look revealed something else -- tears. Kneeling down beside the older boy, Bryan tried to get Nicky's attention.

"Nix?" Bryan said softly, gently shaking the older boy to get a response. But all he got was the same blank look. "Nix?" he said again, this time with a hint of desperation. But again, there was no response. "Nicky...what happened...you're scaring me..." Bryan was indeed scared, the panic evident in his voice. It was then that he got a response, but it only came in the form of a soft sob.

"Nicky, what's wrong? What happened? Did you hurt yourself?" Bryan asked. "Did you forget the key or something?"

Again, there was no response. But Bryan could see Nicky staring at the door. It was no ordinary stare...it was like Nicky's eyes were seeing beyond the door, penetrating the room that laid behind the door.

Seeing no answer, Bryan hesitantly tried the door that Nicky stared at so intently. It was unlocked. He nervously opened it and took a mere three steps before he too froze in shock. Reacting similarly to Nicky earlier, all Bryan could do was walk back into the hall and close the door, shutting out the sounds of the lovemaking.

This wasn't what Bryan had expected. No amount of preparation could have prepared Bryan for what he saw. Not knowing what to do, Bryan kneeled and wrapped Nicky in a hug. "I...I...I don't know what to say, Nix..."

"Let's go, Bry..." Nicky finally said, his voice trembling. They were the first words that Nicky said since Bryan arrived. "The lads are waiting..."

"Nicky? Are you alright? You're scaring me..." Bryan said, himself on the verge of tears. "We can't leave like this...we have to sort this out!" he said, staring at the room.

"There's nothing to sort out, Bry," Nicky replied as he walked towards the elevator. After hesitating a moment, Bryan reluctantly went after Nicky.

There was an eerie silence as the elevator headed towards the garage. Bryan was still trying to absorb the turn of events, while at the same time worrying over Nicky's well being.

"Don't tell the lads," Nicky finally said.

"Why not? This is wrong!!"

"Just leave it, okay?" Nicky half-pleaded, half-ordered.

Before Bryan could answer, the elevator door opened.

"Finally!!" Mark exclaimed. "What took so long? We thought you guys got lost in the hotel or something."

"Hey, you know how it is," Nicky replied with a smile, "I see Kian and of course we have to make out for a while."

Nicky's answer only drew a look of dismay from Bryan. "Why is he lying to the lads?" Bryan thought. "Why is he pretending like nothing's happened?"

"Ooookaay..." Mark laughed, "I really didn't need to know that."

"Well, you did ask..." Nicky grinned.

The four lads got into the car and headed off to dinner. During the next two hours, no one except for Bryan really had a clue about what had happened to Nicky a few hours earlier. In fact, Nicky put on such a good act that at times, even Bryan wondered if he was dreaming. He laughed and joked as if nothing was wrong.

A few hours later, the guys were back at the hotel, sitting in the lounge on their private floor. Bryan was surprised that for the last few hours, there were absolutely no cracks in Nicky's façade. But he made a mental note to confront Nicky about this later, because deep down, he knew that Nicky was hurting beyond any words could describe. And this realization only caused his heart to ache for his friend.

Just when Bryan thought things couldn't get any worse, they did. Kian walked into the lounge with his trademark smile. At that exact moment, Bryan saw the first crack in Nicky's façade. The older boy's smile faded and his muscles tensed. Mark and Shane may have missed it, but this could not escape Bryan's observations.

"Hey lads, how was dinner?" Kian asked casually before sitting down next to Nicky.

"It was great," Mark replied. "Too bad you couldn't join us."

"Yeah," Shane continued, "that Japanese restaurant was amazing!! We should go back tomorrow."

As the conversation continued, Bryan noticed that Nicky had not said a single word since Kian arrived. Kian then wrapped his arms around Nicky. Bryan tensed up as he saw Nicky move away from Kian's embrace. He could feel it...the ultimate confrontation was coming. He could already hear it.

Kian gave Nicky a strange look. "You okay, baby?"

"Yeah, of course, why wouldn't I be?" Nicky answered, without looking at Kian in the eye.

"You sure?"

"Of course I'm sure..."

Kian shrugged and continued talking with the lads. Several minutes later, Kian again tried to embrace Nicky, but again Nicky pushed him away. This time, even Mark and Shane noticed, causing puzzled looks to be exchanged.

"I think I'm going to turn in for the night...I'll see you guys tomorrow," Nicky announced as he got up from the chair.

"It's coming...it's coming," Bryan thought to himself as he braced himself for the impending explosion of emotions. And just as he expected, Kian got up and went after Nicky.

When Kian got into the hall, Nicky was already half way down the corridor. "Nicky, wait up!!"

Nicky turned and stared at Kian, but did not acknowledge him.

"What is wrong, Nicky?"

"I already told you, Kian, nothing's wrong..."

"You're a horrible liar, Nicky," Kian continued, "something is definitely wrong. You're being so...distant."

"Well, I admit," Nicky finally said, "I'm not nearly as good at lying as you are, Kian."

Kian was taken aback by Nicky's response. "What was that supposed to mean?"

"Whatever you want it to mean, Kian."

Exasperated, Kian rushed up to Nicky, pulling the older boy close to him. "What is wrong? Talk to me, Nicky!!"

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF OF ME!!" Nicky yelled, surprising Kian and causing the other three lads to rush out of the lounge.

"What the hell is wrong, Nicky?" Kian asked, his own tone getting angrier. "Don't do this to me!!"

Nicky glared at Kian, his own eyes becoming filled with tears that were threatening to fall. "What the hell is wrong with me?" he asked with bewilderment. "Shouldn't you know, Kian??"

"Why should I know? You didn't tell me anything!!"

Shane moved to step in between the two lads before things got out of hand, but Bryan stopped him, knowing that things would turn uglier in a short while.

"Well, Kian, maybe I will tell you what's wrong..." Nicky said bitterly. "What is wrong is that my boyfriend, the person that I trusted with all my heart, has been lying to me all along, telling me that he loved me and then turning around and fucking with some other man. THAT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME...ARE YOU HAPPY NOW??" Nicky yelled before turning around and fleeing down the corridor in tears, leaving everyone else standing there in shock.

...to be continued....
