Westlife Romance - Part 7

For a while, Shane lost track of time. His world stopped as his tears fell.

It wasn't until he heard a gentle yet persistent knock on his door that he was brought back to reality. "Who is it this time?" he thought to himself angrily. Yes, he was angry. But at who? At Bryan for rejecting his offer of reconciliation? Or at himself for messing up his relationship with Bryan? Shane quickly dried his tears. There was no way that anyone would see him crying. After checking in the mirror and making sure that all signs of his tears were gone, Shane proceeded to open the door. Deep down he was hoping that it would be Bryan. Perhaps after some time to think, Bryan would be willing to forgive him. Opening the door, his hopes were dashed. Bryan was no where to be seen. It was Nicky.

"What is it, Nicky?" Shane asked tersely. He was not aware how uninviting he sounded.

"You okay, Shane?" Nicky asked softly.

"Of course I'm okay," Shane answered impatiently. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"Can I come in? I need to talk to you."

Shane moved to let Nicky into his room. Closing the door, Shane continued to put on a brave face. There was no way he was going to let his defences down. Not in front of Nicky, or any of the lads for that matter. "What do you need to talk about?"

"You," Nicky replied.

"What?"

"I need to talk about you. And Bryan."

"That's where you're wrong, Nicky. You don't need to talk about me and Bryan. And you know why? 'Cause I don't want to talk about it, okay?" Shane spat out. He was taking out his anger on Nicky and he knew it. But at this moment, he didn't care.

But Nicky was relentless. "I don't want to see you guys like this," he reasoned. Nicky knew his patience was running thin. After all, he had never been known for his patience. But he tried his hardest to keep his emotions in check. "Don't shut yourself out, Shane."

"Would you listen to yourself, Nicky?" Shane retorted, his rising anger apparent. "Who do you think you are? Why do you always have to stick your nose where you don't belong? I know you don't do a whole lot around here but I'm sure you have better ways of spending your time than meddling in other people's business."

Shane's words struck Nicky like a ton of bricks. He was hurt by what Shane said. He was more than hurt and his face showed. Right away Shane knew he made another horrible mistake. First Bryan. Now Nicky. "What am I doing?" he scolded himself. Unfortunately, life has no rewind buttons. What's said has been said. The damage was done.

It took Nicky a moment to regain his composure. "If that's how you feel, then I respect your feelings." What else could he have done? Nicky certainly didn't want to open another confrontation with Shane. Things were messed up enough as they were. And perhaps Shane was right. Doubts began swirling in Nicky's mind. "I'm sorry I intruded, Shane. I won't do it again," he said softly, his eyes on the floor. He turned towards the door. "You've failed miserably, Nicky," he said to himself. "Absolutely miserably."

Shane's mind was in overdrive. No way this was going to happen twice in a day. "Wait, Nicky," he called out, his voice faltering. Nicky turned back to face Shane. "I'm...I'm sorry, Nicky..." The blond singer stood there, not saying a word. "I'm sorry about everything that I said..." Shane continued, his voice begin to waver. "I didn't mean it...please...Nicky...don't go..." he said as tears began to fall. There was no use putting up a façade now. It didn't get him anywhere before and keeping it up sure won't get him anywhere now.

The sight of his bandmate in tears was enough to bring Nicky to Shane's side. He wrapped his arms around Shane, who was now shaking from his quiet sobs. "It's okay, Shane," he said softly. "It's okay to cry...let it out."

Shane held onto Nicky tightly, crying on the older boy's shoulders. No words were spoken, but the tears said it all. Nicky helped Shane to the bed. It took several minutes for the tears to stop, and when they did, Shane was still holding onto Nicky. "I'm so sorry, Nicky," Shane whispered.

"I don't know what's wrong with me..."

Nicky looked at Shane in the eye. He was so used to seeing the carefree, confident Shane that this new side of his bandmate was very strange to him. "Nothing's wrong with you, Shane. You're upset. And it's okay to be upset."

"But it's not okay to take it out on you," Shane argued.

"When you're upset, you take things out on whatever or whoever you can find," Nicky reasoned. "We all do that."

"Why is Nicky being so nice to me, even after all I said to him?" Shane kept asking himself. "I didn't know Bryan would get so angry with me," he finally said.

"Bryan's upset, just like you. And that's why he is acting so cold. Give him some time."

"He wouldn't even talk to me. It was like he was talking to a complete stranger," Shane answered as he recalled his earlier conversation. "I don't think he'll forgive me."

"Don't be silly, Shane. You're one of his best friends."

"Do you know what he said, Nix? He said that I never treated him as a friend. That I care about Westlife more than I do about him...or any of you guys..." he whispered, hanging his head in shame. "And I think he was right."

Nicky forced Shane to look him in the eye. "Listen to me, Shane Filan. You've been and you are a wonderful friend. To Bryan. To me. To all of us. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise."

"Nicky, he was right about me putting Westlife above everything else. Remember how I treated you the time when you got sick in Paris?"

"I don't even remember that incident anymore, Shane," Nicky answered incredulously. "I can't believe you still remember!"

Shane sighed and shook his head. "These things come back to haunt you, you know."

"Look Shane, Westlife has been your dream since day one. No one is more committed to this group than you. You are the one who made this group the success that it is today."

"Don't give me more credit than I deserve, Nix."

"Ok, we all show up for rehearsal and stuff. But let's face it, you're the only one of us with what it takes to keep this group running."

"But at what price?" Shane cut in. "At losing all my best friends?"

"You haven't lost anything, Shane. You know how dramatic Bryan can be. He's just angry now. He didn't mean what he said," Nicky reassured his friend. "Sometimes you just need to let down your guard a bit. I mean, loosen up a bit. That's all you have to do. Don't change yourself into someone you're not. We all accepted each other for who we are the day we formed Westlife."

Shane looked at Nicky in awe. Sure, he always knew Nicky to be the level-headed one of the group. The responsible one. But only now did he truly appreciate the inner qualities of his band mate. "Thanks Nix. What you said meant a lot to me. Thanks for being up front with me and thanks for being here for me."

"Anytime Shane," Nicky replied as he gave Shane a big, reassuring hug. "Give Bryan some time. I think he just needs some space to sort things out.

I'll try to talk to him a bit later."

"Okay, Nix. You're awesome, you know that? And I really, really didn't mean what I said earlier. You're more valuable to Westlife than you'll ever know," Shane said with conviction.

Nicky merely smiled and hugged Shane again. "Get some rest and we'll go out for dinner later on, k?"

"Sure thing, Nix."

"I'll talk to you later."

Meanwhile, in another part of the hotel...

"Harder, Kian...fuck me harder..." moaned Derek as Kian plunged his cock into his ass.

Kian responded by fucking Derek with greater speed and force. As both of them neared the climax, Kian's cell phone rang.

"Shit," Kian said aloud. Picking up the phone. "Who it it?" he growled.

"Well, it's nice to hear your voice too..." Mark replied.

"Sorry, Mark...didn't realize it was you."

"Where are you anyways?" Mark asked. "There's no answer in your room. I thought you were getting some sleep?"

...to be continued....
