Chapter 4

"Morning baby," I said as I sat on the side of the bed. Jeff grunted a response as I laughed. I put the glass of orange juice on the night stand as I leaned down to kiss Jeff.

He wrapped an arm around me and pulled me back down onto the bed. I laughed.

"Why aren't you in bed with me?" He asked as he placed little kisses on my neck. Jeff's morning wood pressed into the side of my leg.

I can't believe that Jeff and I have been dating for three months now. The last night that my family was visiting I had him and Michael over for dinner. We sat around sipping wine and talking after dinner was over.

"So, Jeff are your parents going to be excited that you're finally dating?" Mom asked.

"My mom will be. My dad is another question." Jeff said.

"Your dad not too happy with you being gay?" Dad asked.

"Happy isn't the word for it." He said.

Jeff proceeded to tell us that he had come out after graduating from high school and that his dad kicked him out as soon as he was done yelling at Jeff and telling him that he was going to hell. He packed up a duffel bag and went to stay with his older sister Judy. Jeff stayed with her until he left for college.

"How did you end up here?" BJ asked.

"I graduated from UNLV. I had a full scholarship from them and was already working at the bank as I went to school. So, I decided to stay here." Jeff said.

"How are your parents getting along?" Mom asked.

"Mom and I talk all the time. She calls me when she has time and I talk to my sister Judy once a week if not more." Jeff replied. "I went back for a week and stayed with my sister. Mom and I had lunch everyday I was there. She and my father don't talk about me."

Dad shook his head with disappointment.

"How any parent could just turn their back on their child for something that the child couldn't help is beyond me," Dad said. "Some people just shouldn't be parents."

"Well, Jeffrey honey, the family we make is sometimes better than the family we are born into." Michael said.

"I'm just lucky that Mom and Judy didn't turn their backs on me as well." Jeff said.

"And that's how it should be," Dad said.

"Well, you've got us sweetie," Mom said. Jeff smiled as a tear formed in his eye. Dad nodded in agreement. He smiled at my parents.

I laid my head on Jeff's chest.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked kissing the top of my head.

"Nothing sweetie," I said as I placed a kiss on his chest.

"What are we doing today?" Jeff asked.

"Our moms and Judy are coming in later today." I answered.

"Damn! I forgot." He laughed.

"You're meeting them at the airport since I'll be at work." I said.

"Our moms are meeting each other for the first time." Jeff said.

"Mom said that she talked to your mom."

"Yeah, she told me. She said they talk at least once a week." He said. I nodded.

"Well, sweetie I have to get going. There's a plate of eggs, bacon, and French toast warming in the oven for you." I said kissing him.

"Don't you want to call in sick?" Jeff whined. I laughed.

"I would love to but Michael would bitch me out. Then I'd have to tell him that you asked me to and he'd end up bitching you out as well. Do you really want to go through all that?" I said. Jeff laughed.

"Yeah... No... I don't want to hear Michael bitch at me. It's bad enough that he gives me shit for not going out drinking with you two more often." Jeff said.

"Oh! That reminds me, we're taking the women to The Fruit Loop this weekend." I laughed.

"Oh shit! You really think we should take my mom there?" Jeff asked.

"My mom already told her that it was planned. Mom says that your mom is excited about it." I said. He laughed.

"Wow!" He said.

I looked at the alarm clock. "Shit! I have to go. I'll be home about six and I'll make dinner." I said kissing him again and running out the door.

I got to the restaurant a few minutes late.

"Glad you could pull yourself away from your boyfriend to join us." Michael yelled as I walked into the kitchen.

"Bite me whore!" I laughed.

"Just because I've been dating Gavin and Ben," Michael said.

"And Larry," I added. "Oh! And Phillip."

"Shut the fuck up! I didn't ask for your input." He said as I laughed. "And I didn't sleep with Phillip... yet."

"Yet?" I asked.

"I need to keep my options open. We can't all find Prince Charming. Some of us need to kiss some toads before finding our Prince." He said.

"I kissed a couple toads myself." I laughed.

"Vince was definitely a very big toad." Michael laughed.

Michael and I went to work preparing for our day. We spent the early morning cutting up vegetables, making sauces, preparing different cuts of meat, and making different types of stock.

"Colin, have you ever wanted to open your own restaurant?" Michael asked as we worked.

"Definitely! I want to own my own restaurant one day." I answered.

"Why don't we look into it?" He asked.

"Be partners and open our own restaurant?" I said.

"Yeah,"

"We'd have to discuss it and create a menu. We'd also have to look into locations and loans." I said.

"We can do that." Michael said.

By the time our day was over we were both tired. Michael had to go home and get ready for his date with one of the guys. I stopped at the grocery store before I went home.

"You are a lot happier sweetie," Someone said as I walked into the condo.

"I am Mom. Colin is unbelievable. He's a great guy, he's so loving, he's got a great personality, he's gorgeous, and I love just staring into his eyes." Jeff said. I smiled.

I closed the door a little loud so they knew I was home.

"Hi everybody," I said as I walked to the kitchen with the grocery bags.

"Hey baby," Jeff said walking with me into the kitchen. I put the bags down and grabbed Jeff into a tight hug before kissing him. The kiss got deeper as my tongue snaked its way into his mouth.

"Wow! What was that for?" Jeff said breathlessly when we parted. I smiled at him.

"For being a wonderful guy," I said.

"Come meet Mom and Judy." He said. I nodded as he led me out of the kitchen as he held my hand. "Mom and Judy, this is Colin James. CJ this is my mom Katherine and my sister Judy."

"It's a pleasure to finally meet the two of you," I said holding out my hand.

"It's great to finally meet you CJ. I've heard so many good things about you." Katherine said pulling me into a hug instead. I smiled.

"It's great to meet you finally." Judy said hugging me.

"Same here Judy." I said.

"How was work sweetie," Mom said hugging me.

"It was good. We were busy during lunch." I said kissing her cheek.

"And how is Michael?" She asked. I laughed.

"He's still as bitchy as ever." I said. She laughed. Katherine and Judy looked at us. "Michael is a chef I work with. He's my best friend. You two will meet him this week."

"We've heard about him. Jeff says he's a riot." Judy said.

"He is," I said.

"I'm looking forward to going to a gay club." Katherine said.

"We are going to make sure you have a great time. With Michael there with us I'm sure you will." I said.

I talked with everyone for a few minutes before going into the kitchen and starting dinner. The four followed me to the kitchen.

"Babe, will you open a couple bottles of wine for all of us." I said. Jeff nodded.

I grabbed an onion and chopped it up as Jeff poured a glass of wine for everyone. I sliced up the bag of mushrooms that I had bought as well as the boneless chicken breasts. I had Jeff pull out the rice cooker and make a few cups of rice.

"You actually trust my brother in your kitchen?" Judy asked with surprise. I laughed.

"Oh, there was a time that I was going to ban him from my kitchen. But, he's been learning." I said. Judy and Katherine laughed.

"I've been getting better." Jeff said.

As everyone enjoyed their glass of wine I started cooking the chicken and onion. Once the chicken was completely cooked I added a half stick of butter, the sliced mushrooms, and dried tarragon leaves. With everything together I let it simmer so that the liquid from the mushrooms cooked off.

Dinner turned out well, everyone enjoyed it. The five of us sat around after dinner and talked. Jeff's mom and sister are great women.

"CJ, that was delicious." Katherine said.

"Thank you Kathy. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it." I said.

"Jeff, you better marry this boy now." Judy said. We all laughed.

Jeff looked at me and grinned.

"Are you working all week sweetie?" Mom asked.

"I've got the rest of the week off." I said.

"And I have to work tomorrow and Wednesday." Jeff said.

"So, what are we doing tomorrow CJ?" Judy asked me.

"Whatever the three of you want, we are going to lunch tomorrow. Michael wants to meet Jeff's family." I answered.

"Please don't let him corrupt you two." Jeff laughed. I grinned.

"I think Judy's already corrupted." I said. Judy smacked the back of my head.

"Not in front of my mother Colin." She said. I laughed. Our moms laughed.

"We're taking over Jeff's condo since the two of you have been staying together." Kathy said.

"Why don't you all take over this condo? That way you all have your own room," I said. "Your bags are already here."

Jeff grinned. "And you've already got clothes at my place," he said.

We said good night to everyone and walked over to Jeff's condo. I was spending the day with the women as Jeff was at work.
