Friday Morning -- Orlando, FL
Sheraton Hotel -- Nick's Hotel Room
Kevin's POV
I thought the two of us coming here and showing him that we were together as a couple would be a good thing, but now I'm not so sure. Since I told him that me and D were in a relationship, he's been crying now for almost an hour and it doesn't seem to be getting any better. I know his secret about being gay, but why is he reacting like this. I thought he would've figured out that me and D were gay by all the time we spend together. Why is he crying and the such?
"Come on Nick it's okay," I say as he sniffles again, trying to get himself under control as both me and D stepped back and looked at him. "Are you okay Nick?"
"Y-yeah, I'll be alright. I'm sorry I got carried away like that," Nick says as he wipes his eyes and steps back, sitting back down on the bed and taking a sip of his juice.
"Are you sure you're alright Nick?" D asks this time, moving to sit next to Nick.
"Yeah, I'm cool," Nick says as he looks down at the plate of food and then back up at me.
"Kevin why did you chose now to tell me this?" Nick asks me.
"What do you mean?" I ask him, already knowing what it was he was asking.
"Why did you wait until now to tell me this? Why didn't you tell me when I told you about me?" He asks as D looks at him and then at me.
"What did you tell him about you?" D asks him, getting up now and moving over to me with an angry expression on his face.
"I told him a while ago that I was gay too," Nick says as D turns around, stands in front of me and smacks me on the arm.
"Owww!" I scream out. "What's that for?"
"I asked you did you know something about Nick that you weren't telling me and you said `NO'," D says, as I knew that was coming. "You lied to me Kev!"
"I didn't lie baby, that's not my business to tell you. When Nick wanted you to know, he would have told you and that he did just now," I tell him as he glares at me.
"You know what I mean Kev!" D shouts as Nick watched both of us closely.
"Yep, you two are a couple," he says, smiling as the two of us continued to argue.
"What you smiling about blondie?" D asks him as Nick stopped smiling and swallowed hard.
"N-nothing," he says as he picked up his glass and started drinking his juice.
"Uh huh, don't make me get on yo case next Nick," D says as he smacks my arm again and then pulled me closer for a kiss. "Regardless of your lying, I still love you."
"I love you too baby," I say as we kiss again.
"You guys are too mushy," Nick says as he takes a sip of his juice.
"Oh hush," I say, knowing that if he and Brian were together, they would make me and D look like beginners.
"Whatever," Nick says, looking away from the two of us quickly.
"So what are you doing today Nick?" D asks him as he sits down on the sofa into my lap.
"I hadn't planned on doing anything," Nick replies as he looks over at the two of us and then looks down hurriedly.
"Why don't you go ask Brian if he would like to hang out. After last night, I'm sure he would need something to take his mind off of things," I say as Nick looks up hurriedly, almost disconnecting his head from his neck.
"What happened last night?" He asks as I went into detail about what happened between Brian and Leighanne and how we had to have security escort her off to jail for beating on him. "Oh my God! That actually happened? I thought that was part of my...nothing."
"Part of your what Nick?" I ask, looking at him closely.
"Don't worry about it," he says, getting up out of his bed. "If you two don't mind, I'm going to shower. I'll possibly see you guys later."
"Ah...yeah okay Nick," I say as he smiles and ushers me and D out of the room
Friday Afternoon -- Los Angeles, CA
Jones, Jones and Adams Law Firm -- JT Poole's Office
JT Poole's POV
Thank God this work day is almost over. I've been here since seven this morning and I believe it's time that I get going. Walking over to my desk to start loading some law briefs and other documents into my briefcase, the phone rings and April my assistant informs me that I have a phone call holding on the line. Not wanting to answer, I debated on whether or not I should answer the phone or send it to my voicemail. Letting reason win out, I picked up the phone and sighed.
"Hello?" I ask into the phone as the person on the other end was hesitant about speaking. "Whoever you are, I've had a long morning and would like to be home right now."
"John you can't go home before talking to me," I hear a familiar voice. "Once I'm done talking, you can leave and do whatever it is men like you do."
"What is it man, why are you calling me here right now?" I ask the person, smiling to myself, knowing who it was.
"Do we have any lunch plans for today?" He asks as I sit down behind my desk and pull out my daily planner. "Or any other engagements that we need to handle for today?"
"No handsome, we don't have any lunch plans or other engagements to deal with," I tell him, smiling.
"So that means we can have a quiet lunch in your office then?" He asks as I smiled to myself.
"Well for a little bit then it's back to work," I tell him as I can visualize the frown on his face. "I'm sorry Josh, I have a lot of things to catch up on while I'm here today."
"I know baby, but it's the weekend. I thought that maybe you can leave early and we can go down to Laguna Beach or something. We can like take a lil mini vacation or something," he says as I would love to agree to that, but I knew I couldn't.
"I wish we could baby, but I have some briefs to read through tonight and over the weekend. At the rate things are going, I might need to be working on them through lunch," I tell him as my door opens and in steps one of the partners of the company. "Josh baby, I'll call you back in a bit."
"Oh, okay baby. I guess I'll talk to you later then," he says as I hung up the phone.
"Good day Mr. Adams, is there something wrong?" I ask him, standing up to shake his hand.
"No Mr. Poole, there's nothing wrong," Paul Adams, the son of the founder of the company says as he took a seat in front of my desk. "I'm here to discuss some things with you."
"Discuss some things?" I ask, wondering what was going on.
"Yes some things, things like your work habits, your drive to get things done and your future here with Jones, Jones and Adams," Paul Adams says, scaring me a bit.
"My future? What about my future here Mr. Adams?" I ask, getting a little bit more than worried.
"Mr. Poole calm down, I'm only here to offer you an opportunity, one I'm sure you'll be willing to take."
"What kind of opportunity?" I ask, wondering what was about to be offered to me.
"Well to start, the other partners and myself have heard wonderful things about your work habits here. I especially enjoyed hearing about how well you handled the Carmen Electra case last year, the Barbara Sutton case a few months ago and the Dennis Rodman hearing last week. Superb work my boy," Mr. Adams says as he crossed his left leg over his right one.
"Thank you sir," I say as he motioned for me to go ahead and sit back down.
"Well to get back on task, our firm just acquired a few multi-million dollar accounts along with a new law division in Orlando Florida. The partners, along with myself think that you would be the perfect man to head up that division and to oversee that firm. How would you like to become a founding partner in the new law firm out in Florida?" Mr. Adams asks me as I'm sure my eyes were the size of golf balls.
"I...I don't know what to say," I tell him as he smiles at me.
"Well it would be nice if you said `yes' and then we could get everything set," Mr. Adams says, as there's a knock at the door. "Should I let Mr. Chasez in?"
"Let Mr. Chasez in?" I ask, wondering why he would be letting Josh in when he should've been at home or something.
"Yes me," Josh says as he came into the office, smiling like a Cheshire cat and carrying what looked like a bottle of champagne. "Surprise baby."
"Surprise?" I ask, wondering if this was some big joke or something.
"Yep yep," Josh says as Mr. Adams walked back over to the desk carrying three champagne flutes. "I take it, you've heard the good news already."
"Y-yeah I heard the good news, but what does that have to do with you?" I ask, wondering what was actually going on with my lover and one of my bosses.
"Quite simple really," Josh says, popping the cork on the champagne and pouring the contents of the bottle into the flutes. "Mr. Adams called the other night while you were here working and he told me all about the things that were about to take place. We had a talk about you and then he basically had a talk with some of your co-workers and then he talked to me again about today and I was happy about the whole thing, just hoping you'd say `Yes' to him."
"He said `yes' Mr. Chasez," Mr. Adams says, smiling at me and taking a glass from Josh. "All that's left to do is ship all of his things out to his new office in Orlando."
"Sounds good to me," Josh says, walking around the desk and kissing me. "Baby you finally got that promotion you wanted."
"I guess I did," I say, not knowing what all that had happened behind my back in the last few days.
