Author's note: This is my first attempt so please be gentle with me. The story is part fact and part fiction. There's not a lot of gratuitous sex in it because it's a love story. I'll suggest the sex and let your imagination do the rest. I would love to get comments, both pro and con. Replies can be sent to: webworm@nex.net

Dedication: To the loving memory of my Marcus Aaron, sweet little sixteen. I still miss you sweetie even after 4 hard years. There's a hole in my heart that will never be replaced but the fond memories of our time in the sun and the love we showered each other with warms me continually. I love you, MAC. Peace and love to your Mom and Aunt Wilma.

Why Me? Chapter 1

The phone rang and a groggy Carl Dean flipped on the lamp looking at the clock to see that it was 4:30 in the morning. He answered sleepily "Hello". The voice on the other end of the line said "This is Sgt. O'Brian with the Lewisville Police. Is this Mr. Carl Dean?". His mind reeled with fear and rage simultaneously. "Yes, Sgt., this is Carl Dean. What is the problem?". There was a hesitation on the other end of the line and then the Desk Sgt. said "Mr. Dean, we have your son here at the station. He's okay, or at least he will be when he gets some rest. He can be released to your custody if you wish to come pick him up. Otherwise we will hold him here till he is in shape to be released.". "Just hold him there. I'll be there as soon as I can get dressed. Thank you.". Before the sentence could be finished yelling, screaming and sounds of a struggle could be heard and the phone went silent. Betty Dean was listening with tears streaming down her cheeks as her husband rose from the bed. "Do you want me to come with?" she asked. "Not necessary unless you really want to. You might make a large pot of fresh coffee." He replied.

Carl drove to the station trying to understand what had gotten into Richard.. Ever since his last birthday he had been a problem child. His mother and he had always tried to be model parents. His Mom had never worked because she wanted to be there when he got home from school. They went to Church as a family, participated in all the activities that Richard was involved with and were genuinely interested in their son's life and well being. He had always been a model child until around his 16th birthday. He was polite, well mannered, truthful, abiding by all the things he had been taught by his family, Church and Scouts. Why this sudden personality change? His mother and he had grieved over their son's misbehavior and cried themselves to sleep worrying and wondering why this abrupt change. He has become sullen, belligerent, and reclusive. The first evidence of this change came two week before school let out for the summer when they had come home and found him drunk and passed out on the living room floor. The Station House was in site and Carl pulled the car in the parking lot and shut off the engine. He took a deep breath before he opened the door to go inside and face whatever devils Richard was living with.

As he opened the door to the Station he saw two officers picking up and straightening furniture. He announced that he was Carl Dean and here to pick up Richard Dean. The Desk Sgt. walked over to his station and began organizing papers on his desk. "Okay, Mr. Dean, if you will sign this release form we can get started.". Carl pulled a pen from his pocket and scribbled his signature on the forms. "What kind of trouble is he in this time?" he asked. "Mr. Dean, Officer McLaughlin was patrolling over by the river landing and he noticed your son leaning up against the maintenance shed. He stopped to investigate and asked your son for some ID. When he replied it was evident that he was intoxicated. He gave Mac his school ID and since he is a minor Mac had no choice but to bring him in.". "Is being drunk the only thing he is being charged with?" Carl asked. "Yes, he climbed in the car and came to the station peacefully. When I told him that I would call you to come pick him up he begged me not to. Of course I had to inform you and apologize for hanging up on you but he flew into a fit of rage and it took both of us to restrain him.". Carl just hung his head and started to cry from the shame inflicted. "Sgt. O'brian, I don't know what has happened to him. There is definitely something wrong and we cannot get to the root of it.". "I know. I have known Richard since he was in Jr. High. I double as the DARE Officer and have been a steady visitor to his campus. He's always seemed like a good kid - and I can always tell the bad apples." the Sgt. replied. "Could I offer a piece of advice?" O'brian asked. "Certainly. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated." Carl replied.

They went back to the unoccupied duty room and the Sgt. poured two cups of coffee. As the men sat at the table a loud scream was heard from down the hall. A painful wail and a sobbing voice saying "Why me? Why me? Why ME?" Carl could not hold it any longer. He burst into tears and his hands drew up into tight fists slamming down on the table. "God, please. If I could take on his pain, please let me." Carl said through clenched teeth. Then there was only the sound of Carl's and Richard's sobbing. It all seemed like a bad dream until the Sgt. placed his hands on Carl's shoulders pulling Carl back into reality. "Okay, let me tell you about the help that I mentioned earlier. The sooner we get through, the sooner you can get him home and, hopefully, start the healing process. I would like you to take this phone number and call Bob Jenkins. He's helped out many a kid in this town. He's not a psychiatrist or a counselor, just a kind old man with an electronics repair shop. He will go into the details of what should happen but in a nutshell he hires the kids to work in his shop and basically, the rest is history." O'Brian said. Carl took the phone number and said "I certainly hope that this does the trick. I don't know how much more of this anguish his mother and I can take. We have worried more over his behavior in the past 3 months than we did in the first 16 years.".

With that O'Brian ushered Carl out and buzzed Mac to bring Richard to the desk. When the door opened a disheveled Richard followed by Mac came into the room. "Please, let me stay. I can't go home right now, not like this." Richard cried. Carl walked over and put his arms around his son. "It'll be okay, Son. It'll be okay. Don't worry about anything please. Your Mother and I love you." Carl said his voice cracking. Richard just dropped his head and staggered toward the door. As it closed behind them O'Brian and Mac just shook their heads. "Did you tell his Dad where we found him?" Mack queried. "No, I didn't have the heart to tell him. Right now it's not important." O'Brian said. "If that Tea Room down by the river could talk half the men in this town would be shaking in their boots." Mac smiled. "More than half, Mac. More than half. And I'd probably hear the cuffs on your belt rattling loudest." O'Brian chuckled. Winking at the Sgt. Mac said "Yeah, Sarge. You not only stick it in but you twist it also. I sure hope `Uncle' Bob can work his magic on this one. He seems like such a nice kid." With that Mac walked over and put his hands around O'Brian's hips and planted a quick peck on the Sgt.'s lips.

The drive home, while only 10 minutes, seemed like an eternity. Richard was cognizant of the fact the he loved his parents and that love was returned. Why was this so hard for him then. WHY? It would crush them. They were the Cleaver family of this decade. The perfect home, the perfect Mom and Dad. The perfect clubs and Church. The perfect relatives and friends. The only thing imperfect, ME, Richard thought to himself.

Richard thought back to that evening when his folks came home and found him passed out on the living room floor. Earlier that day he and his friend Chad had detoured through Riverside Park on their way home. They had gotten out of school early and it was a warm spring day so what the Hell, goof off for a while. They had been throwing the Frisbee and Richard felt the need to go pee so he excused himself and just as he was about to enter the john the door popped open and out stepped Eric. Eric was a Senior at the High School he attended. "Come to get you some, huh Richie?" Eric asked. "What are you talking about Eric?" Richard replied. "You know what I mean, don't you? Get your weenie sucked? Blow job? Head?" Eric said. "What's that got to do with going to the john to take a whiz?" Richard asked. "You don't know, do you? Well, let me clue you in. Come over here where no one can hear us. Lot's of guys come down here to suck cock. When you go in there you will see a hole in the wall between the stall and the pisser. If you want to get your dick sucked just get it hard standing at the pisser and if the guys wants to suck it he will stick his finger through the hole. Then you just put your cock thought the hole and he will suck you off." Eric replied. "That's sick!" Richard said noticing that even the thought of a scene such as this was making him a little stiff.

Instead of going in the bathroom he went back to where Chad was and related what Eric had told him. Chad was dumbfounded and had a few choice words to say about fags. Richard still in need to pee told Chad that he was running home to use the bathroom there since it was only a couple of blocks away. Chad told Richard that he had to get home also and that he would call him later that evening.

Richard ran all the way home and threw his books by the door yelling greeting to his Mom. After he came out of the bathroom he went to his room and replayed the earlier events. As he laid there he got hard as a rock wondering what it would be like to get his dick sucked. He had been in a quandary about his own sexual orientation for some time now. Girls just didn't interest him that much. Not like the other guys in school. All they could talk about was pussy' and tits'. Maybe he was gay. Nah, can't be. "I'm a normal human being, not a perverted cocksucker, a fag, like the boys were always joking about. " he would always think to himself. Just a late bloomer was his excuse. One of these days the right one would come along. The longer he laid there the more curious he became. He got up the courage to go back to the park and on his way out his Mom stopped. "Where you going in such a rush, Honey?" she said. "Oh, Chad is meeting me over at Riverside and we are gonna toss Frisbees and just hang out, k?" he replied. "That's fine dear. You do rememeber that your Dad and I have to be at the Brevin's for a BBQ this evening and you are on your own for dinner?" she asked. "Sure, Mom. I can scrape up something here or if you were a good mother, you'd bring me a doggie bag from there. Arf Arf." Richard joked. His mother kissed him on his cheek as he ran out the door.

Richard was nervous as Hell as he opened the door. He didn't have to go up to the urinal to get hard. It had been hard long before that. He was shaking like a leaf as he walked up to the urinal. There was someone in that stall - he had seen their shoes under the partition wall. As his trembling hands pulled his cock from his pants he stared at the hole. He stood there hoping that what Eric had told him had not been a joke and he was about to make a fool of himself. Then the finger came through the hole. Decision time was here. Go for it he thought to himself as he slowly turned to face the hole. He crept over but his fear of getting caught got the best of him. As he turned to leave the door opened and....

That's all for now folks. I have no idea how long or short this will be since it is my first submission. Like I said in the beginning your comments would be greatly appreciated. E-mail me at webworm@nex.net
